Re: High frequency sound in lower quality DPCM samples
So, is there anything that can be done here? Any trick or workaround to still remain in the sound format's rules, but to effectively remove or at least reduce the noise?

High frequency sound in lower quality DPCM samples
When I import a wave file as a DPCM sample and use a quality lower than the maximum, I always get a file that has a high frequency noisy sound in the background. Originally, I thought that this might have to do with whatever data is in the wave file itself. But that's not the case. Because even if I...

Re: Import text doesn't show the songs
The module properties dialog box shows the correct values. And as soon as that dialog box is opened, the songs drop down is updated as well. Oh, by the way, the left "box" where all the frames of the song are shown isn't updated either when importing a text file. (But the list of the instr...

Import text doesn't show the songs
When I import a text file into FamiTracker ("File", "Import text"), then the songs are not shown in the drop down box. When I save the file as an FTM file and re-open it, then the songs are there again. A similar thing happens when I already have a file loaded in FamiTracker and ...

Re: Release where a note should be...
Thanks for the information how to clean up the patterns. About the error message: Yeah, that's an error message in FamiTone because that specific pattern includes a character that FamiTone doesn't like. But you can ignore that. This was just some internal issue that we had. iYamWhatIYam wouldn't hav...

Re: Release where a note should be...
To elaborate: The text export includes five patterns: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4. But in FamiTracker itself, we only see four patterns in the song. (All other songs in the list are empty.) And by comparing the patterns in the FTM and the TXT file, the actual song seems to consist of the patterns 0, 1, 3 and 4 fr...

Re: FamiTracker songs that sound like the C64
To put this bluntly, If SID music is what you seek, it would be a wiser decision to make your game for the C64 instead of the Famicom. The SID-like music is just a little gimmick for the title screen music. Everything else is still typical for the NES. Also, where's the fun in composing SID music o...

Re: FamiTracker songs that sound like the C64
Thanks for the sample. one could have just copied the MML string into a new instrument, in the duty cycle section, then placed some notes to see how this sounded. regardless... Not everyone is a musician. I'm asking you guys because I want to know what I can ask my composer to do. I neither know wha...
