Re: Basement brawler (using Konami sounds)
I like it. Definitely has the brawler vibe. Flows well and has a good balance overall. Like the turnaround in Frame 07.

Re: Kick drum on triangle wave (2A03)
Thanks for the info HertzDevil. I'm still picking it apart a little to make sure I fully understand but I think it should all click soon. Very useful. Yeah, I find myself using a mix of the two kicks (i.e., sometimes using the Kick_Bass instrument and other times just putting the Kick instrument a l...

Re: People's approaches for overall balancing/mixing?
Thanks for the responses. All good advice. Unsurprisingly, shortly after my post I gave up on the whole master chart of what-volume-for-what-note-at-what-octave approach. It was doomed from the start. At least I can scratch it off my list I guess.

Kick drum on triangle wave (2A03)
I realized a new technique (for me at least) for a good kick drum sound. If it's anything else like my other "realizations" it's probably something everyone else already knows. I've been taking a break from the DPCM track for a little bit and using the triangle wave for my Kick drum by (1)...

People's approaches for overall balancing/mixing?
Hey, just wondering if people have specific ways of approaching volume control when they compose, particularly regarding Square waves in relation to the Triangle wave. I've had a few different approaches over the years to help achieve a good, consistent balance with minimal heartache but I've recent...

Re: Who Are You? A Friend? (2A03) [BETA]
Awesome. Reminds me of a village theme or something in that vein. I really like the riff in Frame 0F that brings it back to the top. My one tiny critique would be to allow that riff to fade out longer when the track starts over. Instead of having the dead stop for Pulse 2 in Frame 00 Row 00 I'd have...

Re: Not RPGMaker VX Ace
Tight. In terms of where to take it, everything is cranking out 16th notes pretty consistently. I'd maybe have it go into an open section of chord hits, fills, or some sort of vamp to figure out where to go next. Still fast paced but with the kick and snare (or whatever rhythmic pulse you use) more-...

Re: Underground (2A03) Nes NTSC
I like the fadey arpeggios in Frame 02, and good work with echoes and fades throughout. I think it's a nice challenge to loop one riff (in this case the Triangle) and see how many approaches you can take on it with the other waves to try to keep things interesting. I think there could be more variet...

Re: Whispers of the seal, please leave a comment
Cool stuff. I suck at counterpoint so it's cool to hear so many independent ideas blend together into one cohesive piece. The structure seems pretty solid to me. There were some parts here and there where I would maybe handle volume levels a little differently but that's just more of a personal pref...
