I never go above D for pulses in usual mixing. If you want to go full bassy like the Follin Brothers, if you study their nsfs they usually don't go above 7. Giving tri loads of room. I think the first 6 frames struggle dynamically because you're stuck using the blank instruments. I think you could afford to make instruments with unique volume envelopes to help with the intro. It was only meant as a guide. If you want the challenge of mixing down what was originally for 5 FM channels, 1 PCM and 3 PSG channels into the 20A3, then that's a challenge in and of itself.
