So the dissonance in Frame 05 partially comes from the fact that you're using 2 custom instruments and one is overwriting the other one. This sounds really nice and refined. My only gripe is the vibrato at frame 03 (and throughout) could be a bit stronger. In the original track it's extremely overblown but I feel like this cover tones it down too much. Everything else sounds great though!
I've written a few ftms that only use a blank instrument. It can make some stuff simpler but sometimes you end up having to do crazy stuff to compensate for the lack of instruments (which I end up doing here a bit).
Setting deadlines can have drawbacks but can be useful. Usually for the MM remades I try to get stuff out by early December, and having a soft "deadline" like that has worked pretty well. MAGFest was a hard deadline though, and I've really not done that before. Probably shouldn't next time...
Paulmannv: for wily/Cossack stages, I always try to have a straight cover of each theme usually and a more liberal one, usually in that order. Cossack 1 fit a longer, slower theme so usually I'd put the plain cover first and have a variation on the 2nd but it fit better to switch them. This is also ...
