Super Sword Storm NSF

About a year ago, after having fiddled around with Famitracker and making some vaguely terrible things for long enough, I decided that I would sit down and give myself 24 hours to write a simplistic, early NES-esque soundtrack, and this is what came out. It sounds vaguely Castlevania/Darkwing Duck-i...

Re: [2A03] Arumana no Kiseki - Level 5

I had never heard this soundtrack before, let alone of this game, so I'm glad that I've heard it now. The original (and the rest of the soundtrack) has some weird FDS instruments that I'm not really sold on, but it's pretty great. Your cover is pretty accurate, and the instruments sound in the spiri...

Re: hello

At least a few times in WAFFLEMONSTERISAFOOT (amazing name), you place the V effect in the triangle column, but you can't actually change the triangle duty cycle. You also utilize the D effect to move on some frames unnecessarily (jrlepage has them at the end of every frame, when the frame would nat...

Re: Crestfall

I've been working on the imagined sequel soundtrack a bit, added some tracks and added to others. Unfinished tracks are marked accordingly.
(Fun fact: writing anything in 10/4 is tough).

VRC6 Song: "Crystal Vespers"

Something I was working on, maybe for a larger project, maybe not.

Re: [2a03] Chrono Trigger covers

The vibrato helps, but it tends to end up leaving notes sounding a bit sharp - speeding up the vibrato, either by editing the instrument or using a tracker effect, might help. Just playing around with it, 451 didn't sound bad, but definitely do what sounds best to you.

Re: [2a03] Chrono Trigger covers

The string instrument has a lot of vibrato, perhaps distractingly so. But these covers are really good - Secret of the Forest is one of my favorite songs on the SNES, and it's manifested here awesomely.

Re: Emerald Hill Zone

The instruments here are excellent. I do think the switch back to the Arp instrument in the final frame is a bit jarring, but by and large, this sounds a lot like what I'd imagine Sonic 2 would be if Sega had made it on the NES.
