Re: Old Enough to Drink (VRC6)

The reason it sounds thin is because you use a lot of similar-sounding instruments, and you have no effects to spice these simple sounds up. Another thing that may be making it seem sparse is your continuous use of staccato notes and long pauses between melody sections.

Re: [2A03] - Driller's Dream ~ Hacked Dream

The first thing I did when the lead pulse started was change the volume. As Joblez said, the track doesn't "go anywhere'. There's no interesting progression, and your instruments are rather unpleasant. You should see if you can make longer melody loops, to keep the melody from getting repetitiv...

Re: BBLIR's random FT song thread: Final Area

First off, I remixed 9000's theme to experiment with chords and to save the song from impending doom. While I haven't heard the original, I can say this isn't half bad. I don't exactly agree with all your choices for harmonies, but overall it's decent work. That said, remember that this is the orig...

Re: A couple of works-in-progress

Both of these tracks have a lot of potential, especially Metronetworking. Though, the Triangle in Fractal Town, although well-composed with the effects and overall melody, can get annoying real fast. Also, the Noise channel is a little bit too empowering, so you might wanna tone it down a bit. As f...

A couple of works-in-progress

I've been juggling these two projects for a few weeks now, thought I'd get 'em out there, see if anyone can find any blatant mistakes I may have somehow missed.

It's alright. It's got that same high-tempo race track vibe that I've come to expect from you (seriously, this would go perfect with F-Zero). If there's anything I could consider flawed, I think a few notes clash near the beginning.

Re: I Am EiRroR(2A03 + 2xN163)

Honestly, it's...lackluster. The track relies way too much on plain repetition, you don't iterate enough on the melody to keep the song interesting. The other big issue is that, partly because of this repetition, the track never "starts". Your introduction is way longer than it needs to be...

Re: Star Treader [VRC6]

I've said it once and I'll say it again: there's something subtly brilliant about the way you use samples. Solid work.

Desert Wanderer [MMC5]

I am quite a bit happier with this piece that I am with any of my previous work. Any thoughts are welcome.

EDIT: Minor adjustments, mainly a few ideas I got from a glitchy .nsf export.

Solid work. I especially love how you used the drum samples.
