PARANOiA from Dance Dance Revolution (2A03)

"PARANOiA" by 180 (alias of Naoki ) is one of the two hardest songs from the first Dance Dance Revolution . ( RemyWiki ; YouTube ) But with the overall inflation in boss song difficulty over the course of the DDR series, it's now considered one of the easier songs. Konami tried to cover it...

Re: Scrap Brain Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog (MS/GG)) [VRC6]

I didn't listen to your other Sonic 1 (Game Gear) covers, so I'm not 100% sure of your goals here. Are you trying to make it sound as if it were an NES game, or are you trying to make it sound exactly as it did on the Game Gear? ⋅ Why'd you leave the triangle channel blank? The only NES ga...

Re: Row Highlights

I made an FTM with row highlights 3 and 12, but I can't find the row highlight in the text file I get from File > Export Text...

Birdo's Theme (DnB) (VRC6)

I covered the boss theme from Super Mario Bros. 2: Mario Madness (aka Super Mario USA) in a drum 'n' bass style in ModPlug Tracker back in 2005, and I decided to port it to FamiTracker to see if I could get a phat bass sound out of the VRC6.

Neil Voss, composer of the soundtrack for Nintendo's Tetrisphere , claimed in a 1998 interview with IGN that he made it in FastTracker 2, using multi-channel echo in a 16-channel .xm to avoid the CPU hit of doing software reverb. Another interview that I remember reading (but can't find at the momen...

"Goddammit, damn dammit, damn damn! [All ships check in!]"

Four channels, no DMC, Fox only, Final Destination Corneria. Not Coneria/Cornelia, and not Corn Area. Follow Pepe Slippy under all arches for Twin Blaster.

Re: Fine Pitch Effect and Pitch Setting

This is called offset binary or excess 128, where P01 means 1 - 128 = -127, P70 means 112 - 128 = -16, P90 means 136 - 128 = 16, and PFF means 255 - 128 = 127. This encoding is also used in 8-bit .wav files (but not in 16-bit or deeper).

The 2A03-only NSF in another topic was made with another engine. It has an ostinato stealing pulse 1 from the lead, with the lead's decay continuing behind the notes in front of it. I tried to cover it in FamiTracker, and I came close with MMC5. It'd be a perfect cover if only there were an engine f...

Isometry (MMC5; unofficial 2A03)

Years ago, I wrote a short instrumental piece using OpenMPT, intended for use in an exercise routine, but didn't publish it. This is an arrangement of my piece in FamiTracker and in another engine. This NSF was not generated from this FTM. The FTM is MMC5, while the NSF is 2A03-only, playing both 2A...
