Re: Thunder Force IV - Community Cover Project (heroic coup edition)

I was bored so I made a 2A03 version of Stage 7.
That guitar might be too distorted though due to the 30Hz PWM noise I introduced by using the rapid duty changes.

Re: GXSCC porting over to FamiTracker?

Like others have stated before, your best bet is to move on to Famitracker, which would be beneficial in multiple ways: 1. You get to make real chip music you can also play on the hardware it's mean to play on 2. You might learn a thing or two about music 3. I will not lose any more of my hair becau...

Re: My first FamiTracker original. I know it isn't great.

For starters, you used the Megaman toms, actually had a melody, and you weren't aiming too high. One thing, but almost everyone does this at first, the pulse channels are blasting at full volume, but you'll surely start using volume commands and instruments to control that. The thing is, the triangl...

Re: Version 0.5 preview

Any VRC7 module exported seems to instantly silence channels in the NSF when an Sxx effect is used. This existed in beta 2 as well, but I don't know when it was introduced. I'm not very familiar with the register layout but I checked a possible problem with the $30-$36 register writes, and one of th...

Re: Thunderforce IV - Community Cover Project (heroic coup edition)

Stage 7 served! But I don't think I'll make other ones with the VRC7, I'm too frustrated by not having that FM slap bass they used...

Re: Thunderforce IV - Community Cover Project (heroic coup edition)

I'd like to take Stage 7 please! Surprisingly these aren't that difficult and I got excited because I accidentally made a nice sounding guitar for it.

Re: Thunderforce IV - Community Cover Project (heroic coup edition)

In order to express some of the things in the originals I think the VRC7 covers went with higher volumes for the FM channels... now if the clipping behavior is accurate in Famitracker then I suppose they'll be alright, I was a little hesitant about going above B with any channel to be honest. Oh and...

Re: Thunderforce IV - Community Cover Project

Ok, I guess I'll back off from backing off so easily... sorry I've experienced some pretty horrible criticism before (like being told to go die in a hole for going above the 4th octave) so I react even to constructive ideas negatively sometimes... I guess I'll wait and see what happens. It wouldn't ...

Re: Thunderforce IV - Community Cover Project

Well I've had enough of trying to make things to appeal to a select person when it came to my hobbies over the years so no, I'm fixing up my "submission" and then I will proceed to post it in the cover forum just like any other song. So people, you're free to take Stage 6! And good luck, h...
