Re: [2A03] - The Annoying Little Tsundere

Like I said, some fans felt the music for the game needed to sound more Touhou -like. I've been watching a bit of 8-Bit Music Theory just to see how the music for the Super Mario and Sonic series is composed. How I compose my songs is simple: just create one melody that repeats twice and switches to...

[2A03] - The Annoying Little Tsundere

Heya drillers! I was having difficulty trying to come up with ideas for this song. This is basically the follow-up to the stage music, Dusky Eclipse (http://forums.famitracker.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3578), and if you haven't listened to that, I recommend you listen to that first and then come b...

[2A03] - Dusky Eclipse

Heya drillers with another original by The Drillimation Guy! This is a song intended to appear in my indie shmup, Chuhou Joutai . Although my other songs weren't that great, this one should be better. It's longer than the others. This song is also intended to be a stage theme, and of course, you'll ...

[2A03] - Rusty - I'll Destroy Your Mind (Castlevania 1 Style)

Hey drillers!

Back to making covers, I covered the boss theme from the game Rusty for the PC-98. This song might sound good for a shmup game, but still for a Castlevania game.

Re: How do I make catchy melodies?

I often recognize the leitmotifs of Theme of Eastern Story and some melodies of Love-Colored Magic. His more common note patterns such as the one I listed above and a large majority of his songs are written in A Major.

Re: How do I make catchy melodies?

I've made a lot of covers of themes from Touhou games, I was just simply testing them to see how it would sound on the Namco C140, which is a sound chip found in the Namco System 2 arcade board.

How do I make catchy melodies?

Hey drillers! I just want to ask you a question here. I'm making an indie arcade shmup series called Chuhou Joutai (which translates to "the middle state"), which combines the gameplay elements of Touhou Project and Bloons Tower Defense . The default soundtrack will be in NES style, but wi...

Re: [2A03] - Don't Go On Me!

I covered only a few Touhou songs on here. I covered a lot of Touhou songs in OpenMPT. For the sixth to ninth installments, it was just a test to see how they would sound on the Namco C140 hardware, which is a sound chip in the Namco System 2.
