Re: What is VRC6?

To be honest, if you want more accurate SNES sounding music, just use something like Milkytracker or OpenMPT and use lower-quality 8-bit PCM (not 8-bit as in NES, but 8-bit-per-sample audio) and compose with them. You can also rip the samples from the SNES ROM using a BRR ripper, and convert it into...

Re: What is VRC6?

and you can also mix in extended audio, even video, from an expansion-bay device through the ext connector. the Video is just an output tbh. Oh, alrighty. Wonder why they put the video output in the ext connector? I'm thinking for applications of genlocking and chroma-key overlays like the Famicom ...

Re: What is VRC6?

They had planned to have expansion paks and docking hardware, like the later BS-X or the 64DD, for the NES. They would have plugged into that undocumented connector on the bottom. Apparently a music expansion pak would have been trivial, since jumpering two pins on the ext connector enables cartridg...

Re: Increasing max avatar size?

I'm in support of 128x128, but barring that, I'd like the pixel width to compare to the user box beside the post, and a height greater than 96, because seriously the NES pulls 224 lines easy-like The userbox is specified using a percentage width (22% specifically) rather than an absolute, but on a ...

Re: Suggestion: A separate section about tools, utilities & documents

I've had an thread a while ago for things like this. It's been overlooked, for the most part.
A whole section might be a bit much, but a thread, like the "Post your instruments" one might be ideal.

Re: Kombaticus (5B/BETA)

Yeah, I screwed up and was comparing the 2A03 noises from both, which are obviously blank. This is what happens when I'm sleep deprived and skip breakfast. I think I'll take up correcting this myself as an exercise of shame.

Re: Kombaticus (5B/BETA)

It loads fine in FT 0.5.0 Beta 5 and doesn't use any 0cc-specific features. I'll confirm them by an audio comparison in a second.

edit: Audio checks out.
In the future, I'd recommend that specify that it's tested with the official beta when you mention 0cc. People are quick to judge.

Re: "Apply to all slots" for DPCM

"A button that does a thing" is unnecessary and counter-intuitive when there is already a sequence of more clearly-labeled buttons with more definite functions that can be used for more specific purposes by the user. If you really need to make your own automation make it, but there's no r...
