Re: [WIP] Reyn Ouwehand - Last Ninja 3 (C64) - Water Temple

Triangle pattern 0x02? I'm not exactly sure if it'll be perfectly in tune, as the NES has a limited number of divisions between its notes especially at higher frequencies. Accuracy was another goal, and that's close to the same frequency the SID version. One problem in that frame that I did notice, ...

Re: "Custom" option for expansion sound

It should be simple enough to make more than one FTM, synchronized to the same (or an integer multiple of) tempo/speed, covering however many channels you need. Just render them all out to wav, and mix them in any sound editor. It's functionally identical to using multiple NES's with a synced reset ...

Re: Observations

I looked at the " Unanswered posts " list and there's three pages there. A lot of it is in the music sections. A good bit of it are by people who seem new, or unfamiliar, or have fewer than 50 posts here, and they just go about without a reply, to the bottom pages of the board. Most of tho...

Re: Is it generally acceptable to use other people's instrument patches?

It's hard to say. As far as DPCM, FDS and N163 instruments, some are pretty common and simple in their implementation, such as a triangle, sawtooth, sine/powersine, or a sample from a more capable common digital instrument like a SID or an ADLIB. More complex samples are often hand-tuned and very we...

Re: Dilly Dally Until Suicide (2A03)

No, I'm not saying I like it, but it's either experimentally made to sound rubbish like Pollock's No. 5, 1948, or just rubbish like a scribble or spilled paint, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt here.

Re: Dilly Dally Until Suicide (2A03)

Surrealist, and/or abstract; definitely avant-garde.

Reminds me of the time I tried to make modem noises out of an N163.

Re: Post your old, embarassing crap here!

Sort by... Date modified....... Oh god. Oh no. These are the oldest I have on this computer. I have another machine which I had been using Famitracker on, but I don't have access to it at this minute. When I do, I'll pull the even more shitty early stuff. A lot of the things I have here are m...

Re: Redo the 7xy tremolo

These are pretty neat ideas. I've often wondered what the highest depth parameters on 7xx are meant to accomplish, and the only thing I could manage to make use of it on were the strings at the beginning of a cover of Zelda 3's dark world dungeon music, with 7CA (for now). No qualm to me if the 7xx ...
