What makes a song fun to cover for you?
Title says everything. What do you think makes a song fun to cover? For me, if it's in 6/8, is generally catchy, and if it's very memorable. I also like it to be challenging enough but not ridiculously hard to cover.

Re: Post your instruments here!
I quite like this instrument (others may not) but really only when it's used at the correct times, like at the end of a really huge song (such as Auf Der Wirren Wetterwarte from Das Geheimnis der Happy Hippo Insel.)

Re: "File is not a valid Famitracker module". Need help ASAP!
Say, how does a file become corrupted, and is there anything that one can do to avoid it?

Re: "File is not a valid Famitracker module". Need help ASAP!
A hex editor lets you view and edit the raw binary data stored in a file (any file, any format) -- it displays each byte of data as a 2-digit hexadecimal number (hence the name). The tradeoff is, if you aren't familiar with what a given file format actually looks like on its insides then there's ba...

Re: "File is not a valid Famitracker module". Need help ASAP!
Another thing to be learnt is to get a hex editor and open the FTM yourself before posting here... While that is a good lesson to be learned, not everybody even knows what a hex editor is. Famitracker is a music creation tool, to facilitate creating music faithful to the NSF format. And this is the...

Re: Help with a cover
No wonder, the file is incredibly weird. I'll see what I can do.

Re: Help with a cover
Oh dear, this does need some assistance. I'll take a look a look at an imported NSF and see what I can do.

Re: Working on an OST - Constructive Criticism wanted!
Re-did the title theme. It's around 2:35, so it's an average length. I also tried to vary the basslines, and threw in a quick change to 3/4 to signal the start of the chorus, where the game's main theme comes in. It's not perfect, but it should at least be tolerable. Samples are taken from Adventure...

Re: Working on an OST - Constructive Criticism wanted!
Thinking of re-doing it, because there's really no easy way of fixing it. And I think I found a solution - I need to stop setting the sheet length to 128. This literally doubles the song length, so it's the first on my cut list. I'm going to set a number of limits right now - song length min. - 1:3...

Re: Working on an OST - Constructive Criticism wanted!
I suggest making a ~6 frame song to start off with, and then instead of working on multiple songs at once, once you get a new idea for a melody, figure out how to work that into the tune, and once you feel the tune is complete, then add the finishing touches and that's one song. This way, it's high...
