Okay to post about games (that used Famitracker)?

Through a bit of luck, some of my chiptunes (composed with Famitracker of course) were picked up for an indie game that made it onto Steam's Greenlight section. At the moment we're spreading the word to hopefully get enough votes for it to be released through Steam. Would it be kosher to post a link...

Re: Questions regarding bit resolution, waveforms, etc.

Snap. Thanks for the info za909 and HertzDevil. Definitely have more questions but I'll let things simmer for a while to see if I can figure them out.

Questions regarding bit resolution, waveforms, etc.

I've been reviewing the FT wiki and some other sites in an attempt to try better make my brain good. Below is a healthy spread of some dunce questions. Any help is appreciated. Bit resolution refers to the number of levels available in one cycle of a waveform, correct? So something with 2-Bit resolu...

Re: Noise wave editing outside of Famitracker

Ah, thanks for the input – things are making more sense. I also realized I had the input and Sustain set to -7dB which I believe contributed to the lack of active levels in the bit resolution. (I had a feeling the Reaper-is-wrong approach wouldn’t pan out.)

Re: Noise wave editing outside of Famitracker

Thanks for the quick response and the information - definitely helping me better understand all of this. Feel free to tell me to shut up at any point but I have another question because I feel like Reaper is misusing the term "bit" (which is potentially adding to the confusion) and want do...

Re: Noise wave editing outside of Famitracker

Thanks for the feedback. After some research I think I'll go the way of making samples. Thanks for the heads up about the Triangle wave too. If you wouldn't mind checking out my (hopefully logical) synopsis below, I'm trying to understand what's actually going on with this: In Reaper I'm generating ...

Noise wave editing outside of Famitracker

I've used Famitracker to compose/sequence all of my chiptunes over the years but will be using a different interface (either Reaper or Logic) for an upcoming project. Everything seems fine regarding Square, Sawtooth, and Triangle waves in terms of finding good sounds, using oscillators for vibrato, ...

Re: Loop song

I'd say it's a solid loop. Pretty effective for a one frame loop - feel like it would take me a while to get sick of it. I can see it as the indoor music in Metal Gear or something.

Re: My first Original song(1)

Fun song. Good job in general - especially for a first song. Made me realize how few swing tunes I come across in chiptune forums.
