Re: requests

You mean like mine? No; I don't mean like you. The only reason your thread was locked was because you weren't as prepared as people expected you to be (i.e.: no working prototype game without sound & no digitised art). There were others in the earlier forum who'd only beg for people to join the...

Re: requests

If I remember well, the requests that were made in the Share Your Instruments thread on the old forum were mostly to do with "does anyone have xyz instrument?" There may have been a couple of song requests, but those were largely ignored. Other instrument requests were pretty much "do...

Re: requests

I actually think that it's a bad idea to have a Cover Request thread. People tend to do things as they wish to do them; not many want to simply do a cover just because someone requests it (which also explains why any previous requests made in the old forums quickly turned into arguments & got lo...

Re: Qt FamiTracker

Just be on the look-out for the release of FamiTracker 0.5.0. This said, I hope there are QT FamiTracker users who do have MIDI devices to test with.

Re: Anyone have any tips on making originals?

Pencildragon's method is pretty much my method (look for anything to inspire an idea, write it down in music notation if you can, improvise on a common theme in multiple ways to end up with multiple tunes, choose one & build on that). The thing is everyone has a different method or, if following...

Nothing's lost; the old forum's closed to new membership, but is still up in read-only mode for archival purposes.

Re: Create a Power-up! Community creation

If it's a tune for when Mario collects a power-up, why would it have to be a 30-second loop & not just a non-looping, 3-second sound? Just curious & not trying to burst your bubble here.

Re: King Crimson - In Court of The Crimson King Album Thread

I love how you pulled off I Talk To The Wind (In The Court Of The Crimson King & Red are two of my favourite albums from King Crimson). I can't wait to hear how you'll pull off Epitaph.

If only you were working on Red as well; wouldn't it be awesome to hear Starless in 8-bit?

Re: [VOTE] BRAINSTORMING - Collaborative Videogame OST Cover Project

Now what I don't understand is how a debate over Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario 3D world should ever arise, as I recall that BOTH games were mentioned by the same person who suggested them, just as I've suggested the two Zelda games for N64; what's so bad about covering a set amount of songs from...

Re: [VOTE] BRAINSTORMING - Collaborative Videogame OST Cover Project

Not only that, but even if a soundtrack has been ripped, why should that stop us from covering it? Considering that we can't simply cut & paste a music rip of any N64 game or XBox 360 game into FamiTracker, we'd still have to use our brains to transcribe what we analyse into FamiTracker. In othe...
