Announcing 057-FamiTracker

057-FamiTracker is a suspended version of 0CC-FamiTracker; it is a special build that supports only the vanilla FamiTracker subset of module features, but otherwise shares all the improvements in 0CC-FamiTracker. I realized that such a build would have many benefits: ⋅ FamiTracker users wi...

[2A03] Kirby's Adventure - Grape Garden (0.2.6)

Created using this instrument pack I made. Requires vanilla FamiTracker 0.2.6.

This cover is done using an MML dump of the original song in the NSF. No other logs were used, including NSF-imported modules.

Kirby's Adventure Instrument Pack

This is a module containing all 41 instruments ripped from Kirby's Adventure, using the exact instrument indices in the instrument names as they are represented internally. The module requires vanilla FamiTracker 0.2.6 (a mirror can be found here ), since it is the last version that has the desired ...

Re: beta NSF driver?

The 5B part can be readily disassembled from any beta NSF using it. Other parts include the 5B pattern effects and calls to ft_init_s5b / ft_update_s5b, perhaps special handling for noise / mode sequences and other places as well. I don't think I made one such disassembly while diffing the 0.4.6 and...

Re: "Blank" Measure Working in Tracker but not in NSF?

The Bxx command works exactly as advertised, there are no differences between FamiTracker 0.4.6 and the NSF it exports.

EDIT: Honestly I have no idea what you are even trying to achieve. Can you attach a module where the desired loop is done by manually repeating the pattern data?

Re: "Blank" Measure Working in Tracker but not in NSF?

Nothing wrong with it, remember that the first frame is 00, not 01.

Re: Using Multiple Expansion Chips at Once

The VRC6+VRC7+8-N163 module will actually crash the tracker because there is a mismatch between the channel count (13) and the chip configuration (22). It is corrupted , and may stay that way even if the module is saved again. There are other ways to get these chips working together without leading ...

Re: "Blank" Measure Working in Tracker but not in NSF?

Which parameters did you put for the Bxx and/or Dxx commands?

Re: "Frequency offset (hertz)" pitch bend?

If a channel stores its pitch as a period register, then it is incapable of detuning by a fixed frequency difference, and forcing it to do so will give very poor results in the general case (e.g. the smallest delta near 2A03 pulse A-4 is about 6.88 Hz). A similar argument goes for fixed period diffe...

Re: Inconsistent DPCM volume - ramps up and down

If you play a new sample without resetting the delta value (by Zxx commands or the initial values on the instrument's assignments), it will just start from whatever value is last played from the existing sample. It could be greater than the initial value of the first sample, or less; in general this...
