Re: Decreasing VRC6 volume

I believe this is actually a normal artifact of the 2A03 operation. The 2A03 has sixteen discrete volume levels (0 through 0xF); any time you change the output volume the waveform will jump abruptly from the previous volume setting to the new, and depending on which phase of the waveform (pulse or r...

I'm also not a fan of arped chords ... but, meh, that's just stylistic preferences talking. ;)

Which is a rare event, but devastating if it happens.

Mushroomdude, did anything out of the ordinary occur when you last loaded/edited/saved the file?

Re: Secret of Mana - Danger! [VRC6]

I may not be a fan of expansion chips that sound too different from the core 2A03 capabilities, but this mix is awesome. :)

Re: I have no knowledge of music

At a minimum, all you need is the ability to identify a note when you hear it -- if not by name then by finding the matching note in FamiTracker -- and the ability to identify separate tracks in an arrangement. However this is just a minimum, the more experience you have with music in general the be...

Re: Megalovania Rubicon[MMC5]

Though, the only issue I had was with your snares. The delay they have seems to throw the rhythm off a bit. I agree, that's a huge flaw here. Snares are expected to hit in sync with the backbeat, but the volume envelopes on yours (instruments 01 and 03) delay it by about half a beat and that throws...

Re: This file was created in a newer version of Famitracker.

This doesn't always happen with newer versions of FT, it's just that the 0.5 beta makes breaking changes to the FTM file format (for example, row highlights are now song-specific not module-wide).

Re: Relationships involving tempo and speed

All I know is that my formula worked for me every time, as wrong as it was. Bah, don't worry, we've all done that. Also, down on Famitracker's statusbar there is a BPM value. This reflects the song's Tempo and Speed settings, and the Highlight 1 value (rows per beat) on the toolbar at the top; it a...

Re: Relationships involving tempo and speed

We need a standardized term for engine cycles (ticks?), because "frame" has multiple contextual meanings, most notably the frame-pattern structure of an FTM. Anyway, HertzDevil is correct (and btw HertzDevil is almost always correct) ; there should be a 60 in your formula but this does not...
