Re: (2A03) A DPCM bass test.

Hey, I'm glad you like it! And, about those hi-hats and other similar percussion instruments, I have heard about them, but I don't actually know how to make and use them. I am currently looking at the hi-hats in the edit and studying them. Thanks! You can make them pretty easily, actually! Just use...

Re: (2A03) A DPCM bass test.

Hey, this is great! I love the 8th-note-off rhythms you have going on here, and it's very catchy: short and sweet! There are a couple of things I think could be touched upon, though. Particularly: - Generally speaking, try to make your kick/snares follow a simple "boots and cats and" rhyth...

I'm glad to hear that, and good luck with your future endeavors!

Oh, my bad! By "counter" I meant to say "countermelody." Sorry for the confusion!

Re: Desperate Haymaker [2a03+vrc6]

Wonderful composition! I love the varied sections of the song, and I'm also impressed by the length of the song! For the most part I don't think there's much feedback I personally can provide here, because most of what I have to say regards personal taste (e.g. Duty Cycle choices, melody, vibrato st...

Re: Phoenix Wright ~ Objection!! 2a03

@Objection 2001: Great job with the melody/bass/drums! I love the fade in/out effects on Pulse 2, as well as the vibrato. The rhythm also seemed to translate nicely in this rendition, although I do feel the harmonies were rather lacking. There are a couple of things I think you can do here: - Use ar...

That's the end of my edit, because everything after that isn't actually polished.

Re: My first 2A03 cover: Airman Ga Taosenai

Ok, I took a look and I think I understand. So what if I have an instrument with a more developed volume envelope (like 15 15 14 14 13 12 10 (with a vrc6 instrument if that's important)) and I want 4 to be the release volume. How would I write that in the envelope? You'd do: http://i.imgur.com/Pagr...

Re: My first 2A03 cover: Airman Ga Taosenai

Thanks, this is super helpful. I'd just like to ask, what is note release? I've seen it but I don't actually know what it does. It seems like it functions similar to the - command and Sxx command but I don't know specifically what it does. Note Release is triggered with an = in the pattern data, wh...

Re: No drums, sound effects gets special treatment brah

Wait, what? This looks like a pirate version of R-Type 3 for the SNES... Anyway, regarding the sound design, I think the songs sound rather lacking because of the missing drums. I feel like they could really use some bass, too. The plain fade-out instruments sound very simple like the Gameboy and be...

Re: Lean On - Major Lazer & DJ Snake (2a03 + DPCM + MMC5)

Really nice job with this! Great job doing the entire song and nice job with the sound design too! For the most part this is pretty much solid, but there were a couple of minor things I noticed that I think I should mention: - I tweaked the noise rhythm a bit to sound more like the original. Try sub...
