Sphere Brain BGM 2 (2a03)
I heard za909's covers of this song a while back, I didn't really like them that much, please don't kill me :'( so I felt motivated to create a cover of my own. I didn't try to make it sound like it's source material, but I did try to make the notes as accurate as I could. The FTM file uses the 0.5....

Re: The Smurfs (NES) - Act 1 [N163 experiment]
The beat and the snare sound really off, at least to me. They sound rather flat...I've edited the percussion and the instruments to have more of a kick.

Treasure Island Dizzy main BGM (N163)
Did this in about an hour or so. I really like Dizzy music, and Dizzy + Matt Grey = audio porn.
All instruments except one of the N163 ones are original. One of them was obtained from Project S-11.
Enjoy!

Re: What makes a song fun to cover for you?
Yeah I know that feeling. I've been trying to cover Bouy Base Galaxy, and I just can't seem to get it right. "Bouy" Base Galaxy can be covered with at least four channels. It may be worth filtering out higher/lower frequencies to get a better sense of the polyphony; time-stretching is als...

Re: What makes a song fun to cover for you?
...enjoying the product I am creating. Oh, this. This so much. I've made starts on songs that are awesome that I really like, when my attempts to cover them end up being ... pathetic. Which ultimately makes the song Not Fun. Conversely, one or two songs I've been able to create decent covers for li...

Really like how you used the pulse channel...not really a fan of tri arps, though. I think it would sound better if you switched the pulse 1 and triangle channels (With a bit of editing, not just straight up switching them undoctored) but that's just my opinion.

my power went out That's interesting. I generally use laptops, which don't require to be hooked in 24/7, and I still have files corrupted every now and then. So that's either one of the causes, or something else happened. That's a good tidbit of info though, and creating a backup generally does help.

That's what I did with my Flash covers. That song was difficult at first but I got the hang of it.
