Personally, I've never minded that it was external. I hated skype because it was just BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP constantly, and if I left it alone for more than like 2 hours, it would say 999+ new messages. The steam chatroom is always completely empty.
And regarding jsr, I think it's amazing he's poured as much work into this program and the forum that surrounds it for no pay while keeping a job, and FT is in a very good state as it is, in my opinion.
