Which multichip configurations work on hardware?

Postby TheMudkipMaster12 » Sun Jan 03, 2016 7:38 pm

I know that some don't work because of address conflicts or something (FDS + VRC6 iirc) but which one's can actually play on hardware since I know it's possible? I want to try to make a multichip song and be able to pay it back on a Famicom/NES.

The address conflicts that would screw up many players and emulators, won't screw up on TNS hardware in fact. The condition for a NSF to play correctly on TNS hardware is that the last bank must be fixed (some of my Famicompo Pico entries haven't the last bank fixed, so they can't play on TNS hardware), also TNS hardware couldn't handle over/underclocking.
If I'm not mistaken, any combination of expansion chips could work on TNS hardware.
nsf.nesbbs.com under reconstruction, better player might be available in the future.

VRC6 PWM is GAY because it has colours of the rainbow in the NSFPlay keyboard visualizer.

The question is which hardware.

You could build whatever you need, if you really want to.

This is true, I can play literally any combo.
