i've been meaning to find a sample-based tracker for a while now, but it seems that the ones i find are to difficult to understand. are there any other trackers that you guys recommend thats very similar to famitracker?
another question is, will there be any plans for anything when famitracker is 100% complete?
any other good trackers that you guys recommend?
Re: any other good trackers that you guys recommend?
I know of no tracker as streamlined as FT. But as far as my needs go
s3xmodit: openMPT
AY-3-8910: VortexTrackerII or I go with mml
OPL2: FaustMusicCreater though I am always looking for something better
ZX Spectrum Turbo FM: TFMMusicMaker
anything else I try go with mml

MadTracker is the inspiration of the interface in FamiTracker, but it is not very powerful.
OpenMPT should be more comfortable than MilkyTracker for learning. I managed to customize the hotkeys in Modplug so that they match the ones in FamiTracker.
Renoise is the most powerful (supports Lua plugins, but is proprietary); Klystrack is probably the most fun tracker to use.

refactoring 0cc-famitracker

There's VGM Music Maker if you feel like getting you're Megadrive on. ex
Adlib Tracker 2 is pretty good for making adlib music on windows. ex
Goattracker is pretty good for c64 too, if you're willing to learn how to use 'tables'. ex
And finally Raster Music Tracker is a tracker for Atari Pokey music. ex
