Need DPCM Assistance Please!

Postby Sacara » Sun Feb 19, 2017 8:06 am

Heya,

This is my first time trying to use the DPCM module/channel, but I'm having terrible luck trying to use it. I want to use a custom sample, and I've pieced together that the files have to be either .wav, or you can convert them using RJDMC (v 1.4), but when I put the .wav (it's only 3 secs long) into Famitracker itself, it sounds like dying nightmare fuel. RJDMC errors out (I've tried multiple downloads of the program, and multiple .wav files) when I try to convert the .wav file to .dmc....

I'm pretty sure I'm missing a simple piece to this, but I'm not sure what. I've been trying different tactics for about two hours now. May you guys help me trouble shoot?

Thanks in advance! I really appreciate it!~

Can you upload the actual file you're trying to convert? That might help.

Whoops, sorry about that.
For some reason, the forum doesn't want to let me attach the .wav file, so I'll provide it in this link here: https://ufile.io/d58bd

Te .ftm is also attached, just in case.

It's because the wav is in some very weird non-standard format. 32-bit 22767Hz? Acquire a normal 44.1Khz wav and then your problems will disappear.

Resampled the .wav file to 41000Hz and it worked like a charm! (I used audacity.)

I feel pretty awesome right now that I can continue finishing the song, so thank you, guys!
