Help about multple key presses

Postby Qlint » Tue Feb 28, 2017 9:31 pm

Hello,

Just switched from MPT to FT, love it.
Playing on my midikeyboard with usb connection, everything works fine sound and everything, even made my own instruments.

But when I'm trying to hit a low octave C as bass at the same time as playing a regular C-chord, but as soon as i hit the C-chord the lower octave C dies.
Even if I hit a low C and then a higher C the sound from the first keypress dies at once.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just how FT works?

This is how vanilla FamiTracker works.

At least one mod supports playing notes on multiple channels of the same type (it also has split keyboard input so you can play bass on one group of channels and chord on another), but note that you still need more channels to play full chords, e.g. with MMC5 enabled.

The other way is to enable the MIDI "arpeggiate chords" option in the configuration menu, though I do not really think people use that ever because it does not represent keypresses very well.

It is right in my signature, there is also a demo video showing this capability (it is disabled inside edit mode). Much of the added code can be found in this commit.

This is perfect and works exactly as I wanted.
I'm running on 0CC-FT 0.3.14.5

Thanks a lot HertzDevil! :\/
