The Genesis and the VRC7 Are kinda similar, though iirc the Genesis has two extra operators.
Is there anyway i can covert genesis intruments to vrc7?

Not particularly. The Genesis's chip has not only more operators, but more complex modulation methods than the VRC7. Unless your instrument is extremely simple, there's not way to convert them.

So if i grab a simple instrument, do i just copy the values? I i'm pretty sure there is some changes that need to be made before i enter the values into the VRC7

If you copied the values from the Genesis FM synth patch, there wouldn't be enough inputs because the VRC7 soundchip only has 2 operators. The Genesis soundchip also has algorithms to it's operators so just like Teuthida mentioned, your patch would have to be pretty simple.

The Genesis has a YM2612; the VRC7 is based off of a YM2413.
