N163 different waves simultaneously

Postby Gigaroid » Fri Sep 08, 2017 2:37 pm

Hi, I've pretty much learned how to use every chip effectively except for the Namco one. Whenever I try to use multiple channels, I can never get it so there's two different sounds playing at once. I know this is because one of the waveforms is overwriting the other. Is there a way around this? VRC7 allows for you to use different patches at once, but doesn't allow for multiple different custom patches at once. As far as I can tell, N163 doesn't work like that. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

So, in the Wave tab of the N163 instrument editor, if you look above where the piano is, you'll find the wave size and wave position. The latter is what you'll need to change so that a waveform doesn't overwrite another one. This was something I learned from the Famitracker help file.
