I wonder how lively this place is.In general I signed up because I am interested in retro-style game music composition. Low resolution samples and chip tunes are my thing. I spent the last year learning about synthesizers and trying my best to not get sucked into "gear lust" or what is commonly known as GAS. I purchased a few different synths to recreate "game sounds" but realized soon after having a few synths that the best we to get the same NES sounds is through playing the actual chip used on the NES -- so I got a MIDINES cartridge.
I do intend to get into Famitracker but I am doing this in my spare energy, so that idea is "on the shelf" as of now.
I just thought I would share a bit about my motivations while I am here.
