I Get Only Piano Sounds!

Postby MaverickHunterZero » Mon Aug 17, 2015 4:49 pm

Hi, I am MaverickHunterZero, a novice FamiTracker user, and, well...
My FamiTracker only makes piano sounds.
Can someone help me switch it back to normal NES sounds?
Thanks,
MaverickHunterZero :D

File > Configuration > MIDI > Output Device > <none>

Now, what do you mean?
If you get Piano sounds, then it MUST be the Microsoft Synthesizer.

Is there any other output devices that might change the piano sounds into NES sounds?
That's kind of what I'm trying to say here...

Disabling the secondary output device should help. Besides playing the sound from the emulated sound hardware Famitracker can send commands to an MIDI output device like the Synthesizer integrated into windows.

Try FILE > CONFIGURATION > SOUND and make sure you're using the primary audio driver as your audio device. You can also try to select different ones and see if it helps. Also, make sure you have no MIDI-devices plugged into your computer. And if you have an external soundcard, try to unplug that too.

Then there's of cource the MIDI Output Device setting. Make sure to keep a close look at this when changing all the settings above. Just in case.

If it still doesn't work, try out a different version of famitracker. If you have 0.4.6, try out the 0.5 beta, and vice verca. I suggest that you try some even older versions too.

I can't come up with anything more that you should check on the fly like this, but do feel free to send some screenshots of your settings, or maybe even a private video on youtube only viewable for those who have a link, and I'll try to help you out some more.

Good luck!
Hi! I'm not really active here anymore but I still make music. Nowadays I mostly make dubstep with emphasis on good melodies and chord progressions.

I'm sorry, I was gone for a little.
But that seems to not help either, is there any other solutions?

Probably not without further information on your part. It's clearly a configuration issue (you shouldn't ever be hearing MIDI instruments from an NES tracker), but we're in the dark about why.
