"File is not a valid Famitracker module". Need help ASAP!

Postby 04deoxys » Thu Sep 24, 2015 9:21 pm

Hello,

Recently I've been working on a chiptune of the song "What's up people?" by Maximum the Hormone, and I've gotten far on the project itself. Recently though I've had a power outage and my computer shut down on me without warning. I boot up my computer, go to my documents, and when I try to open the file I get "File is not a valid Famitracker module". Apparently this means the file is corrupted from what I've heard, but is there anyway to recover it? I've been working on this song for over a week now, and restarting it will be a major pain.

Please let me know of any routes to fixing this problem, thanks!

Paging HertzDevil or somebody else who knows what they're doing, corrupted files have been saved before I believe.

The file consists only of the zero byte. It is essentially blank and has no trace of data.

Wow, that sucks :( but lesson to be learned: backup any files you're afraid of losing.
