The DPCM samples tab allows you to import 16-bit PCM, but not 8-bit PCM or ADPCM. I think the importer should allow to import more types of PCM. If we can't support ADPCM, then at least support 8-bit PCM (it's uncompressed). Sure, I could convert the 8-bit PCM to 16-bit, but if I just imported it directly, it would save time. Supporting MP3 import would also be a nice idea too, though I'm not sure how well it would go.
Why did I make this feature request? I was trying to import some samples from Norman Cook's Skip to my Loops, only to find the program didn't support 8-bit PCM.

Re: Support for importing 8-bit PCM/ADPCM
MP3 is not going to happen because the user then has to supply a location to the Lame encoder, which is inappropriate for a tracker whose main purpose is not to manipulate MP3 files as instruments.

There is a small point that if 16-bit PCM is available to import then why not 8-bit PCM too?
