Drag & Drop instruments between FTM files

Postby ollaxe » Tue Aug 11, 2015 3:45 pm

The big text you clicked on to get here says it all. I don't know if this has been requested before, but I did a quick search and I didn't find anything.

Anyway, this would be really nice having this when you're creating a new song. Instead of having to export FTI files and then importing them back into your new songs, you could just drag them from the old FTM and drop them in the new one.
Hi! I'm not really active here anymore but I still make music. Nowadays I mostly make dubstep with emphasis on good melodies and chord progressions.

Probably tricky to get right internally, but damn it would save a lot of time compared to current methods of importing .FTI files or importing whole instrument sets from .FTMs .

A deep clone of the source instrument to the destination FTM, combined with a "merge duplicate sequences" method, shall suffice.

Because the instrument list is itself a derived class, and because drag & drop of pattern data is already supported, it should be easy to implement this.
