Triode's Last Stand (VRC6)

Postby TheNoobHunter » Fri Oct 21, 2016 4:36 am

I'm working on making an indie space shooter called "Triode" right now. I made this song to be the title theme. I've been listening to the Darkman soundtrack by Jonathan Dunn a lot lately and I think it definitely shows in here. Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think.

0E to the end seems melodically to be a little bit unmotivated - the VRC6 Pulse 2 ends frames on some really anticlimactic notes, and there's some embellishing here with vibrato/volume crescendoes that could make this section a little more interesting. This might also be a personal opinion, but the track doesn't sound particularly like a "last stand" so much as "embarking upon an adventure", mostly due to the central arpeggio playing in the 2A03 Pulse channels, which is a little too unflinchingly major-key. That said, there's some great instrumentation here otherwise - good work!
