Oubliette in G Minor(VRC7)

Postby Teuthida » Wed Dec 28, 2016 2:42 pm

It's been a while since I uploaded something, so here's a dungeony song I made a little bit ago. Enjoy!

EDIT: Made some instrument changes and added a looping version as the second song. It also has a cool-sounding name now! 8-)

EDIT EDIT: Added slight vibrato to some notes. Thanks to MoviesMovies1 for the suggestion!

:o Such eargasm! Such wow! This tune you wrote sounds like it could be for either the SEGA Mark III or the SEGA Genesis. I really love how everything meshes together, and those echoes/reverbs are awesome. I cannot find anything bad about it. Nice job, keep up the good work!

Great use of the VRC7! I've never been able to sit down and work out how to use it, and so I find anything using it impressive, but this in particular makes great use of the instruments. Sections of this sound like they could be almost straight out of a Metroid game, but I like the higher energy you bring to those same types of ethereal chords.

(as a minor secondary thing, I saw the MuseScore versions of some of my stuff you put up a few months ago, and didn't really have the time to make considered comments about them. Suffice it to say, I loved it.)

In my opinion the flute solo near the end isn't befitting of the 'dungeony' theme that you drove home for the rest of the song
