Need composer for my game.(Concept art added) PAID

Postby Omicron_Games » Tue Feb 07, 2017 1:29 pm

My studio's next project is going to be a retro game.
I myself can compose music for fun, but not for a commercial project.
So I think this is a good place to find somebody helps our studio compose musics.
What we need for now:
A theme music.
Title Screen (A short version of the theme music)
Intro
Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Hidden Level
Infinite Level
Mini Boss 1
Mini Boss 2
Boss 1
Boss 2
Final Boss
Credits
Game Over
Main Menu

18 total.
----------------------------
We prefer VRC6 or just pure 2A07/2A03.
No arpeggio chord.

If anyone interested, please contact me, we'll discuss in advance.
Please reply in the thread, tell us how much will that take and how long.
Thanks!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry guys, it's my fault, I should provide more details.
But for now, I can't provide the game screen shot or something graphical, only sketches.
Now I'll try my best to describe our game, and once our artist got anything, I'll post here.
My English isn't very accrued, so I'll try my best to describe.
The Background Story:
Mankind developed very fast, eventually, they colonized ever corner of the universe.
But they don't know when to stop. They found there are more dimensions in this world, so started to research them.
During researching, they found some shocking truth:
4th dimension is filled with stream of consciousness;
Why mankind has evolved to a high intelligent creature because they interfered the process.
4th dimension has evolved the very first stream of consciousness, but itself cannot be reproduced.
So when people die, their consciousness will fly across to 4th dimension and become a part of the stream of consciousness.
Religions are used for normalizing consciousness.
But now, that new consciousness became very dirty because people became religionless, selfish and greedy, so 4th dimension
decided to perform a MASTER RESET (aka Big Bang).
Knowing this, mankind decided to wipe out all stream of consciousness.
Dimension war has begun.
Our protagonist is one of the female soldiers that takes part in this war.
But when she entered the teleporter, teleporter malfunctioned and sent her into a world that time and space are meaningless.
She is struggling to get out from this world but only found that will never be going to happen as long as she is alive.

Now we'd like to discuss music styles.
We love bosses. Very much.
So our game fills with lots of bosses.
So boss theme will be like the one in Rocket Knight Adventure
http://66.90.93.122/soundfiles/sega-meg ... 20Boss.mp3
and Contra: Hard Corps (Actually both game from the same team)
http://66.90.93.122/soundfiles/sega-meg ... 0Bushi.mp3
In first music from Rocket Knight, we really liked that there is an alarm sound in the music and blended very well, became a part of music.
Music is very important to us. Our scene or boss will interactive with music.
For example, some of the boss attacks will be based on music beats and rhythm.
Some light on mech or scene will pulse based on music beats and rhythm too.
So boss theme must have really strong rhythm. I think two music I provided will be enough.

Level 1 will be a mech world, inside a research lab, filled with all kind of mechs, droid, and troops.

Level 2 will be on top of the lab where still under construction.
There are concrete, rebel and something else related to a construction yard.

Level 3 will be in the future. The player will fight with police because of her unknown identity.
This is the level player learned that dimension war should never happen.

Level 4 will be a place filled with all kind of deformed creature and half mech half organ thingy.

Level 5 is hard to describe.
Just image the Mario and Luigi on 3DS, there is a world called Luigi's deep depth.
And filled with something like Yume Nikki. You'll feel uncomfortable.
Music might be hard to compose for such a level, so composer could try the music from Luigi's deep depth, but much more depressing and scary.

I've uploaded some early sketches I drew. Our artist now working on it.

Put more details. How the musics should be ? Upbeat ? Fast-paced ?
Is the game serious or made of rainbows ? You'll have to give us the context.

You tell only the 20% of the job by telling us how many songs there will be, but the other 80% is how the songs are gonna be like.
You have put the sound what you want it to be (2A03 or 2A03+VRC6) yet there is a great difference in style and tone between something like Super Mario Bros. (Just 2A03) and Shovel Knight (2A03+VRC6).
For the music to be effective in a game, it most be rooted in the tone of the game itself.
Horror game>Horror music. Silly Game>Silly music.
Once that is sorted out, the people that feel that can fill the task, they will talk to you.

Some questions abound. In adding to the above about tone and channels, I'm not totally sure what you mean by "no arpeggio chord" - do you mean the stylized NES/chiptune quick arpeggios, or arpeggios in general? As is, "arpeggio chord" is something of a moot term - an arpeggio is by definition a type of broken chord. As for the time it would take, that's variable on the questions above. 2A03 takes less time than VRC6 - there are fewer moving components.
Again, interested, and here's a link to a Soundcloud with some excerpts from the last project I did (https://soundcloud.com/user-806759110/s ... under-king), just let us know some of the specifics.

I can do the soundtrack, but as the others said, I'm going to need more than what you said. Do you have some screenshots, concept art or even the alpha build so we can see what style you're going for? If you want to see my stuff, it should be in my signature.

Why do people keep doing this? How do you expect us to know how to compose music for your game if we have no info on what the game's actually about? Whenever someone asks for music for a game like this, it pisses me (and maybe others) off. Seriously, don't do this.
Don't copy that floppy!

I have a Youtube channel! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbvooz ... NbuSAKbn5w
There's pretty much nothing there, but y'know, just in case.

It's better then the last few times this happened. It's written in proper English and there's enough details for something at least.

Well, I'll try my best to describe.
Most of the Japanese games do not use arpeggio chord while some US game that uses, compared to JP games.

In our perspective, the arpeggio chord means that attempt to "simulate" more that two notes at the same time by quick arpeggios.
But other kinds of arpeggios are OK.
By that said, we do not completely ban the use of that kind of quick arpeggios, you can have some, but don't do it too much.
Like the music created by Naruto called AI Bomb.
Artificial Intelligence Bomb.nsf
(30 KiB) Downloaded 49 times

It got some quick arpeggios used perfectly.
We just don't like a vibrating note, we prefer a straight note.
For example, Darkman on NES by Ocean, 1991.
I'm not saying Darkman's music is bad, we just don't like that kind of arpeggios.
Darkman's music is pretty decent.

I'll post once our artist finishes the concept.
Meanwhile, you can reference the early concept drawing.
