Postby Puppy288 » Wed Mar 08, 2017 7:01 pm

I'm making some mariotale music. There are 10 tracks so far.

Welcome to the forums! Seems like you've just started using Famitracker, so I'll try to give some useful tips.
First of all, the songs are all minimalist, which is okay if that's what your going for, but with the title being "Mariotale" I'd imagine something more upbeat and melody driven. As for now, it sounds boring and irritating. The instruments are kinda bleh as well. I'd recommend looking up some tutorials to begin with and maybe do some covers to help improve your musical skills.

Also, you used instruments to serve as note cuts, but you can just press the 1 key in record mode to put in note cuts.

Finally, why use Famitracker if you don't want 8-bit sound? If you really want to though, the easiest way is to use VRC7. You could also use N163, but it's a bit more involved.

Best of luck to you!
Don't copy that floppy!

There's pretty much nothing there, but y'know, just in case.
