Against Evil! (VRC6)

Postby graypesoda » Mon Jul 06, 2015 5:53 am

Here's the first half of a song I put together until like 2 AM. I hope you guys like it and would really appreciate some feedback... I'm really not sure at all where to go with this from here.

Hey this is sick!! Super 80's, I love it! Some suggestions as to where to go from there might be just to repeat the "A" section, or the first section of the song again, that's totally always a viable option, I'm pretty sure the chords resolve that way too. As for that to do after that, here are some ideas: The whole song could be in ABCBA form, where you have three different themes line up with those three letters. You could also have ABACABA for a more chorus heavy song, or even ABCDEFG...etc where you just have theme after theme evolving from eachother. You could also have theme repetition while modifying the themes slightly each time to keep things interesting. There's a lot you can do with this, don't let writer's block get you down! Just pay attention to chord structure if you know how, and if not, just pay attention to what sounds cool really! Just remember, all ultra successful music has one thing in common - it's catchy. To make something catchy, you always need to return "home," and by that I mean to the base (tonic) chord of the song, or the main theme. Keep it up, this song rules.
