Ikachan Main Theme N163-6

Postby Manatee » Fri Nov 27, 2015 5:27 am

I recently downloaded the game Ikachan (which was made by the same guy who did Cave Story) and I really loved the music. Because of that, I decided to take a stab at covering the main theme! I tried to get as close to the original's waves as possible, and I think I got pretty close. What do you all think?

If anyone has any drums samples straight from Ikachan, please let me know!

Also, there's a weird glitch on frame 12 where F notes do a pitch slide of sorts. Does anyone know how to fix this?

EDIT:Fixed the pitch issue. Thanks you, w7n! I also edited instrument 0's wave slightly.

EDIT EDIT:Further fixed the issue by restructuring the instrument.

EDIT EDIT EDIT:Fixed one last instrument issue. This one's really the end, I swear!

The glitch: It's not a FT glitch, rather it's because the retrigger of the instrument starts at the 23rd frame(this 'frame' means 1/60 seconds), while the interval between the two notes are 24 frames, thus the retrigger of the previous note starts right before the next note, and hence the 'pitch slide'.
nsf.nesbbs.com under reconstruction, better player might be available in the future.

VRC6 PWM is GAY because it has colours of the rainbow in the NSFPlay keyboard visualizer.

Thanks Bramble and w7n! I've put a version up at the OP that fixes a few minor issues.
