[2a03] Aquatic Ambience (0.4.6)

Hey look I'm not dead on the forums.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite songs from Donkey Kong Country. I tried arranging this song for just the 2a03, which was a challenge because you can't normally get an "ambient" sound with 5 channels. I also didn't use any arps because they wouldn't really fit the piece. I hope you like it!

Mixed feelings on this one ... you're right that 'ambient' isn't something the 2A03 is exactly competent at doing.

That being said, I think you did an excellent job with Pulse 1 throughout. The early pitch bends on Pulse 2 really don't work for me (yes they are part of the original, but ... again, not something the 2a03 does very well), but by contrast the similar pitchbend in frame 08 does. Some of the other choices for Pulse 2 (frame 0B, 11 and 12) I'd prefer to be done on V02 instead of V01 or V00. Maybe I'm just a fan of the squarewave here, but overall, it's nicely done.

Pretty nice! I do agree with Strateiler that the early pitchbends don't work terribly well, but has to do with the 2a03's limits. I think removing those pitchbends makes it sound better at the expense of being less accurate.

It'd also free up an extra channel for harmonics or effects.
