Shovel Knight: Bucklers and Bonnets [MMC5] 0.5 Beta

Postby wispybowl » Fri Jun 19, 2015 9:01 am

0.5 Beta

Another one of my favorite tracks from Shovel Knight. For some reason I always thought this song would sound nice on a Gameboy. So here's a Gameboy-ish version I made using the MMC5.

At first I tried using arps for chords but it sounded to cluttered to me so I changed it. Anyway, I hope you guys like it!

Sounds great, though kinda lacking. It's probably because you used two channels to create an echo. I think it'll sound better if add some notes from the counterpoint melody here and there. Still, the cover sounds nice and gameboy-ish.

Um... there's no dual channel echo in this. I'm not really sure what you're talking about?

There isn't? Hm... Guess that's what happens when you can't view the notes. Sorry about that.

this sounds really good, but why not 1 n163 channel for gameboy-esque tracks, so you can make your own fancy waves too?

0.5 beta doesn't work with biomechanicaldude's pc. im not sure if jsr has fixed the issue or not, but please be considerate about why people still arent using the 0.5 beta.

I would have just used it as a square anyway. In the Oracle Zelda games, they used the custom wave as just another square and I really like the way that sounded. Besides, idk how to use the n163, and I don't feel the need to learn it yet.

Uh... Thanks. That was unexpected. Anyway, upon hearing the original theme and the cover, I realized you covered, the alternate version of the song(the one you hear, when you're in the blimp) and that it's a very accurate cover. I guess, I just failed to realize it before. Again, sorry!
