Acidjazzed Evening [W.I.P.] (VRC6)

Postby lu9 » Fri Jul 10, 2015 8:01 pm

Since VRC6 pulses have more width than normal 2A03, I figured it would be possible to recreate the famous "Acidjazzed Evening" with accurate instruments... still it is not 100% perfect of course, given the fact I'm still even new with tracking.
This works with the official version of FamiTracker.
I am halfway done with the song, but wanted to show you all how it is progressing:
FTM
(original song)
(again remember that this is not aiming to be an exact recreation of the original song)

I love this recreation, but it would be better with some detune (pitch command) in one or two channels. Anyway, i hope this gets finished. Keep it up! :D
Ciao a tutti! :)

The best chip for this song would the Namco163 (multiple wavevorms in the same channel, accurate switching of waveforms on channels 3/4, and (using certain mods like 0cc-Famitracker) sampled drum waveforms eliminating the need for the noise and DPCM channels).

also, I'm totally not taking credit for the best 2A03 version of this song.
Slowly working on a thing called "FaMIGA".

well i got called out for using 0CC in my first post for obvious reasons, but
I wanted to use VRC6 especially for the fact it uses the exact square waveforms used in Acidjazzed Evening, and I don't see enough VRC6 songs using its square "duty cycle" effect...

hey u stip bragging u lil sh*******

No, VRC6 is the best since the actual waveforms match.

Except for where the song switches between pulse and a triangle in the same channel.

If you're interested in an old failed MOD conversion I made, I could post that. The volume column is correct, but the effects are sometimes wrong.

Official 0.5.0 beta 5 supports wave lengths longer than 32 samples. (You still need a good external sampler to get anything close to percussion samples.)
refactoring 0cc-famitracker
