Yea... I've tried to get a hold of PostApocolyptica all day. I've gotten no answer from her today.
If I don't receive an answer of whether or not I can use those FDS instruments, than I'll get rid of this post. Sorry about that, and I'm glad you think it sounds good!
Something I never understood... why are people on here so serious about their instruments being used? In my opinion, it's just an instrument. Most of the instruments I've used that are other peoples mostly sound the same to me. After all, isn't it the final product that's more important? It's not like i'm stealing their whole song from them. Just my thoughts on the matter...

I have little to say about the module, save for the fact that a number of the instruments are unused, and a large amount of phrases are duplicated. The main issue is how the FDS instruments are used. The reason they sound like they do here is because they use FDS modulation. Open the original module in 0CC-FamiTracker 0.3.13 and you will see an example of auto-FM (added in 0.3.12) You would not achieve the same sound by copying the Ixy effects directly, so you would have to undergo trial and error and tune each note individually with Ixx and Jxx to get the desired sound. Make sure you set the modulation depth of the first two instruments to 62, and the third to 51.
As for people caring about their instruments being used, some users do not wish for their efforts to be potentially undermined by someone else using them. I cannot speak for the practicality of protecting instruments, but users can refrain from releasing the source files if they want. NSF's are probably uploaded either because of this, or because of usage of effects and features seen in specific forks of FamiTracker.

Thats a really cool, grooving song you covered. Of yourse it's neccessary to ask the author about using their instruments, but the FDS instruments here are really plain and simple...
