Defiled Honor + Effigy (Shadow of the Thunder King v50)

Postby MechaGrapefruit » Sun Apr 07, 2019 3:29 am

Hello all! Don't know how often people venture here anymore, but here's two more songs from Shadow of the Thunder King (still recovering a lot of the ideas from a dead computer). I'd appreciate any thoughts on Defiled Honor (VALOR TRAP 2) and Effigy (BOSS 1), as well as any of the works in progress!

Unfortunately this place is getting emptier each day - but somehow I am still lurking in here.
First of all it's cool to notice that each chapter/act holds an unique mood and stays consistent with it.

#4 - Effigy
Upbeat and bright, it almost sounds goofy. The first frame with the melody going downwards heavily reminds me of the intro of most pokemon boss battles. I liked the last bits of frames 03 and 04.

#8 - Surge Defector
The overall mood is similar to The Watchful Dark, dark and detective-like.

#15 - Arc Light
I find the beginning very bright like Rainbow Man from Megaman Unlimited. It contrasts with Sinister Illumination.

#9 - Colossus Climb
A lengthly music that reminds me of an epic. You put a 0 in frame 03 that prevents the triangle from playing.

PLEASE, finish Shadow of the Thunder King. It has so much potential.

Overall, really good soundtrack you got going here. Everything is spot on.
