vrc7 extension used on Konami's Lagrange Point seems to use only 6 channels
but since vrc7 is based on ym2413, why can't we use whole 9 channels?
i'm asking this because FamiTracker is a great tool for composing music for hardware like Japanese Master System, not just Famicom
why we can use only 6 channels from ym2413? (vrc7)

Re: why we can use only 6 channels from ym2413? (vrc7)
Therein lies the rub; FamiTracker is EXCLUSIVELY NES capable chipsets - the VRC7 soundchip is a variant of the YM2413. Since the VRC7 expansion is used in the NES, it gets in. If anything, Bamboo Tracker is a thing that exists that uses FM synthesis like the two chips, and unlike FamiTracker, there's 6+ channels in the tracker by default.
